How I Got Started
I began sewing in August of 2010, when I enrolled my oldest son in Mother's Say Out. He needed a nap mat and I wanted to try to make one on my own. Since I am an avid reader of Prudent Baby, I took my cues from Jacinda's tutorial. Although there were a few imperfections, the end result was a success!
I completed my first project using a hand-me-down Singer sewing machine that was passed along to me from my Great Aunt. It was able to sew straight stitches and reverse straight stitches. And it was having a little trouble. Repairs were about half the cost of a new machine with (many) more features, so began contemplating the prospect of purchasing a new machine.
As I thought about a new machine, the list of thing I wanted to make grew longer. I entertained the idea of starting a business as an outlet for my newfound love. I shared my love of sewing with a few close Christian sisters who helped me come up with a name for my business and gave me my first deadline: to order a new machine!
When I received my new machine, I quickly made a crayon roll for my son and, a few weeks later, a makeup bag for my sister. I was hooked for sure!
Now, Really, About Me
I am almost 30!
I am married to Jadie. He's a strong, sweet man who works hard to provide for our family so that I can be a stay at home mom.
I am the mother of a boy who is about to cross the threshold into the school age years.
I am the mother of a girl who is still small enough that I can call her my baby.
I am a believer in Christ as my Savior. I hope that although I am bold in sharing about him, that I present him with love. You are loved.
